The Dorset coast is recognised as being of international importance because it shows an almost complete North European sedimentary record of 200 million years of the Earth's history during the Jurassic Period. The Heritage Coast truly is one of the great undiscovered stretches of England’s coastline and our RIB Blast gives you the best view of this un spoilt coastline. The Heritage Coast RIB blast begins at Poole Quay where you will be greeted by the boat's skipper who will conduct the safety briefing before boarding. The skipper will cover all aspects of safety and show you over the RIB power boat. Once you have familiarised yourself with the layout and the controls, you will be kited out with your life jacket ready for departure. Leaving the Marina through Europe's largest natural harbour to Poole Bay, each member of the party will be given the chance to drive the power boat at low speed. At the same time, there's the chance to enjoy the wonderful scenery around the harbour. Enjoy splendid views of Brownsea Island, Brownsea Castle, Sandbanks, Shell Bay, Studland & The Old Harry Rocks. See the white cliffs of The Isle of White and then look back and see the magnificent Poole and Bournemouth coastlines. From Old Harry Rocks it's time to put the power on, past Durlston, Dancing Ledge and a chance to play in the choppy waters off St Aldhelms Head. The Coastline changes dramatically as you pass by Chapman's Pool and Kimmeridge Bay then the limestone cliffs rear up once more as you near your journeys end at the magnificent natural Lulworth Cove. Lulworth Cove is a perfect horse-shoe shaped bay created by the sea hollowing out the soft clays to reach the harder chalk behind. Here you drop anchor in the sheltered natural harbour and enjoy a bite to eat, or go ashore for refreshments. After a short break it's time for the return trip to Poole Harbour, with a chance to take the helm and put the boat through its paces. Cost £450 |
