MCA Coding
 

The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) is responsible throughout the UK for implementing the Government's maritime safety policy. That includes co-ordinating search and rescue at sea through Her Majesty's Coastguard, and checking that ships meet UK and international safety rules.

Small Vessels up to 24 metres such as RIB's operating commercially under the British Flag or in British waters must comply with the Merchant Shipping Regulations or the MCA Code of Practice.

All boats operated by Extreme RIB Charters have been fully approved by the MCA and certified as meeting the requirements of the MCA Code of Practice for commercial vessels.

Our boats have been coded for Category 4: Up to 20 miles from a Safe Haven in favourable weather & daylight.

As all of our boats are fully coded by the MCA you can be assured that you are chartering a very safe boat with a competent skipper. All boats are equipped with the latest safety equipment a sample list follows:

•  On-board VHF & portable radios

•  Flares

•  First aid kit

•  GPS system
